sto-ninoAs the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) of this school decided last night, they proceeded with celebrating the 4PM mass at the Basilica del Santo Niño despite continued rains.

They also decided last night to suspend classes today with Cebu placed under Storm Signal No. 1.

DBTC pastoral animator Fr. Bong de Leon, SDB, officiated the mass with Fr. Honesto “Nioret” G. Geronimo Jr., SDB, the school rector and president, and vice president for pastoral affairs Fr. John Vernil “Dodoy” Lopez, SDB, assisting.

The DBTC delegation included Grade 10, TVEd and college students, whose band provided the accompaniment, along with Bro. Joseph Son, SDB, and Bro. Genson Banguis, SDB.

Citizens Army Training (CAT) cadet officers served as honor guards, while the school’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) were in full force to assist when needed any of the delegation and the pilgrims.

Teachers led by assistant principals Sir Judan Sanchez Sta. Teresa, Sir Eleuterio Abainza and Ms. Marichu Librea and lay personnel also joined the delegation, and a group from Don Bosco Missionary Seminary.

They sang and served as choir with some college students.
